Preschool Music and Movement Classes

Research shows that early musical experiences significantly enhance cognitive development, social skills and emotional regulation in young children. Tap, groove, march, bang and sing along in these engaging classes designed to nurture your child’s love of music, poetry and dance. Smiling faces and warm hearts are a bonus!

Monday Magic:  2-3 year olds with parents/caregivers

• Mondays, 9:00-9:30 am, September 8-December 1

Wonder Wednesdays:  4-5 year olds

• Wednesdays, 4:30-5:00 pm, September 10-December 10

Voice Lessons, Individual lessons for beginners and intermediates (12 years and older):

• Instruction in basic vocal skills:  posture, breathing, pitch-matching, tone quality, accuracy, diction (beginner, intermediate)
• Instruction in musical interpretation and presentation:  learning songs, applying vocal skills to songs, practicing performance readiness, acting (beginner, intermediate)
• Solfeggio:  Sight-singing and ear-training (intermediate)
• Recitals:  One per semester for those interested

Piano Lessons, Individual lessons for beginners (6 years and older):

• Use of Faber Piano Adventures Curriculum
• Introduction to the piano keyboard
• Identifying the musical staff
• Identifying note names
• Identifying treble and bass clefs
• Reading musical rhythms
  
• Preparing performance pieces
• Recitals:  One per semester
